How to Convert a Multi-Page PDF to Multiple JPG Files
You have a 10-page PDF and want each page as a separate JPG — for an Instagram carousel, a website gallery, or building a slideshow. PDFShed splits and converts in one step.
The problem
You exported your portfolio to PDF for emailing. Now a client wants individual JPG files instead. Manual export from any PDF reader requires page-by-page screenshots.
Use the tool now
Open the pdf to jpg tool and follow the steps below.
Step-by-step
- 1
Open the PDF to JPG tool
Drop your PDF in.
- 2
Pick output mode "One JPG per page"
Default mode produces one ZIP with N JPGs (one per page).
- 3
Select quality preset
High (300 DPI) for print, Medium (150 DPI) for web, Low (72 DPI) for thumbnails.
- 4
Convert and download ZIP
You get page-1.jpg, page-2.jpg, etc. Numbered to preserve order.
- 5
Extract and use
Unzip on Windows (right-click → Extract All) or Mac (double-click). Files are ready for upload anywhere.
Pro tips
- •For social media carousels, see [Convert PDF to JPG for social media](/en/guides/convert-pdf-to-jpg-for-social-media).
- •For PNG instead of JPG, use the PDF to PNG tool — sharper for text-heavy pages.
- •After conversion, you can re-merge selected JPGs into a new PDF using [JPG to PDF](/en/tools/jpg-to-pdf).
- •For massive PDFs (200+ pages), browser memory may struggle — process in chunks using [Extract Pages](/en/tools/extract-pages) first.
Frequently asked questions
Will the file order be preserved?
Yes — ZIP contents are named page-1.jpg, page-2.jpg, etc. Sort by filename to maintain order.
What about transparency?
JPG doesn't support transparency. Use PDF to PNG if your pages have transparent areas.
Can I get all pages as one tall JPG?
Yes — pick "Vertical stitch" mode. All pages combine into one tall JPG (great for visual archives, but unwieldy for normal use).
How big will the output ZIP be?
Roughly 2-5x the size of the original PDF, depending on quality preset.
